Description

The Wallenstein BXM42 Chipper/Shredder is a PTO-driven, gravity-feed machine designed for rural properties, fence-line maintenance, and general land-clearing projects. With a 4 in (10 cm) chipping capacity and 2 in (5 cm) shredding capacity, it processes branches and other suitable material through dedicated chipping and shredding systems. The BXM42 uses a tractor-powered PTO belt drive, a disc-style chipper, and a hammer-mill shredder, making it a versatile attachment for tractors rated from 30–85 engine HP.

Wallenstein BXM42 Chipper/Shredder Features

The BXM42 combines gravity-feed material handling with separate chipper and shredder openings for flexible processing. Its 4 x 10 in (10 x 25 cm) chipper infeed opening is designed for material within the specified chipping capacity, while the integrated shredder hopper accommodates suitable material for shredding up to 2 in (5 cm).

A heavy-duty rotor measuring 25 in (64 cm) in diameter operates at 1,200 rpm when supplied by the specified 540-rpm PTO input. The chipper uses two knives, while the hammer-mill shredder is equipped with 30 shredder knives. The discharge chute rotates through 360°, and the positional discharge deflector and adjustable discharge chute help direct processed material where required.

Chipping and Shredding Capacity

The BXM42 is specified to chip material up to 4 in (10 cm) and shred material up to 2 in (5 cm). The chipper hopper opening measures 18 x 18 in (45 x 45 cm), while the shredder hopper opening measures 33 x 40 in (84 x 102 cm). The shredder housing opening measures 11 x 11 in (27 x 27 cm).

Tractor Requirements and Compatibility

The Wallenstein BXM42 is intended for tractors rated from 30–85 engine HP. It requires a tractor with a 540-rpm PTO and mounts using a Category I 3-point hitch. The machine is also specified as iMatch™ compatible and Quick Hitch compatible.
