Material is introduced manually through the gravity-feed system. The 22 x 25-inch (56 x 64 cm) hopper opening and 7 x 12-inch (17 x 30 cm) chipper infeed opening provide a broad entry area for branches within the machine’s rated capacity. A twig breaker and wide infeed arrangement support consistent manual feeding of suitable material.

Rotor and Cutting System

The BX72S is built around an oversized 28-inch (71 cm) rotor weighing 175 lb (79 kg). Four full rotor knives provide the cutting action, with hardened, reversible knife construction and four-bolt mounting. Reversible knives can be turned when required, helping provide an additional cutting edge during service. The disc chipper design is rated to process material up to 7 inches (18 cm), subject to suitable operating conditions and material handling.

Discharge and Transport

The discharge chute rotates through 360°, allowing the operator to position chip discharge around the tractor and work area. An adjustable chute and positional discharge deflector help direct chips where required. For transport and storage, the feed hopper folds without tools. The folded width is 42 inches (132 cm), compared with a 70-inch (178 cm) open working width.
