The Wallenstein BX72R 7in PTO Driven Chipper, Hydraulic Feed is a tractor-mounted wood chipper designed for processing branches and woody material up to 7 inches (18 cm) in diameter. Its dual hydraulic roller feed system helps draw material into the chipper, while the PTO direct-drive system provides power from a compatible tractor. With a wide infeed opening, oversized heavy-duty rotor, reversible rotor knives, adjustable discharge chute, and fold-up feed hopper, the BX72R is suited to property maintenance, land clearing, forestry work, and general brush and branch processing.

Efficient Hydraulic Feeding and 7-Inch Capacity

The BX72R uses dual driven hydraulic rollers to help feed branches consistently into the chipping system. The 7 x 12 inch (18 x 31 cm) chipper infeed opening and 26 x 35 inch (66 x 89 cm) chipper hopper opening provide generous access for handling incoming material. A twig breaker supports processing of smaller branches and brush, while the four-knife rotor is designed for chipping performance across the machine’s rated capacity.

Power is transferred through a PTO direct-drive system. The chipper is rated for tractors with an engine output of 50–85 horsepower and operates across a 540–1000 rpm PTO speed range. The tractor must also provide the required hydraulic flow of 3–6 gpm (12–23 lpm) for the hydraulic feed system.

Discharge and Transport Features

The adjustable discharge chute rotates through 360 degrees, allowing the operator to direct chips where they are needed. A positional discharge deflector provides further control over the discharge stream. For transport and storage, the feed hopper folds without tools, reducing the machine’s width from 64 inches (163 cm) open to 56 inches (143 cm) folded.
