Description

WALLENSTEIN BX72RI 7 in Chipper is a PTO-driven, three-point-hitch disc wood chipper designed for tractors in the 45–85 engine HP range. Built for rural properties, fence-line maintenance, and general wood-processing work, it combines a 7 in (18 cm) chipping capacity with dual hydraulic feed rollers, automatic roller-speed control, and P3 Pulse™ on-board intelligence. The wide 7 in x 12 in infeed opening, oversized rotor, reversible knives, fold-up hopper, and adjustable discharge chute provide a practical setup for handling branches and processing material efficiently. The BX72RI requires tractor hydraulic flow for its dual hydraulic feed rollers and is compatible with Category I iMatch™ and Quick Hitch systems, as well as Category II mounting.

Performance and Feeding System

The BX72RI uses two hydraulically driven feed rollers to draw material into the chipper. Its automatic roller-speed control is provided through P3 Pulse™ on-board intelligence, helping manage roller speed during operation. The machine has a 7 in x 12 in infeed opening and a 26 in x 35 in (66 cm x 89 cm) chipper hopper opening. A heavy-duty 28 in (71 cm) rotor, weighing 185 lb (84 kg), is equipped with four reversible chipper knives. The integrated twig breaker supports the processing system, while the safety control bar provides an accessible operating control.

Discharge and Handling

Processed material exits through a discharge chute positioned 90 in (228 cm) above the ground. The chute rotates through 360°, allowing the discharge direction to be adjusted for the working area. A positional discharge deflector provides additional control over where chips are directed. The feed hopper folds up, helping reduce the machine’s transport width from 64 in (163 cm) open to 56 in (143 cm) folded.

Tractor Requirements and Compatibility

The Wallenstein BX72RI is intended for tractors with 45–85 engine HP and uses a 540–1000 rpm rated PTO direct-drive system. The dual hydraulic feed rollers require tractor hydraulic flow of 3–6 gpm (12–23 lpm). It mounts to a tractor three-point hitch and is Category I iMatch™ and Quick Hitch compatible, as well as Category II compatible.

The P3 Pulse™ V3 variant applies to BX72RI serial numbers 172R724 and up. Earlier BX72RI units used IntelliFEED or earlier P3 Pulse revisions.
