Description

The Wallenstein BX52S 5in Wood Chipper is a gravity-feed, PTO-driven disc chipper designed for tractors in the 22–55 hp range. Its Category I 3-point hitch mounting makes it suitable for compatible compact and utility tractors, while the direct-drive PTO system delivers a practical solution for processing branches up to 5 inches in diameter. With a wide infeed opening, oversized 25-inch rotor, four reversible rotor knives, adjustable discharge control, and a fold-up feed hopper, the BX52S is well suited to property maintenance, acreage management, landscaping, and cleanup work where tractor-powered chipping capacity is required.

Efficient Tractor-Powered Chipping

The Wallenstein BX52S uses a gravity-feed system and a direct-drive PTO connection to transfer tractor power directly to the chipper. The machine is rated for tractors from 22 to 55 hp and operates at a rated PTO speed of 540–1000 rpm. Its 5-inch chipping capacity and 5-inch by 10-inch infeed opening provide a substantial entry area for suitable branches and woody material.

The disc-style rotor measures 25 inches in diameter and weighs 125 lb. Four-bolt hardened, reversible rotor knives are designed to provide two usable cutting edges before replacement is required. A twig breaker and wide infeed opening support the processing of smaller branches and brush, while the manual feed/self-feed hopper gives the operator flexibility during use.

Convenient Discharge and Storage Features

Chipped material exits through a discharge chute positioned 66 inches above the ground. The chute rotates through 360°, and the positional discharge deflector helps direct material where it is needed. The discharge chute is adjustable, supporting practical placement of chips during property cleanup and landscaping tasks.

The feed hopper folds up without tools, reducing the machine’s transport width from 64 inches when open to 42 inches when folded. An adjustable ski base and adjustable discharge chute add flexibility when positioning the chipper for different operating conditions.
