Description

The Vermeer VR820 Carted Wheel Rake is an eight-wheel hay rake designed to help operators efficiently gather forage into consistent windrows across a broad working width. Its adjustable rake width and angle, high-clearance frame, and rubber torsion toolbar suspension support practical field operation, while single-side raking capability allows the machine to rake from either the left or right side. With a raking width of 16.6–19 ft (5.1–5.8 m), the VR820 is suited to haymaking operations where coverage, windrow control, and transport convenience are important.

Efficient Eight-Wheel Raking

The VR820 uses eight 55-inch (139.7 cm) rake wheels to collect cut forage and form windrows. Each wheel has 40 teeth, with 0.3-inch (0.8 cm) tooth diameter, providing the working components needed for consistent hay gathering. The raking width can be adjusted from 16.6 to 19 ft (5.1 to 5.8 m), while the windrow width can be set from 31 to 80 inches (78.7 to 203.2 cm).

Adjustable Field Performance

Tool-free raking-width and angle adjustment helps simplify setup for changing field conditions and crop requirements. The rubber torsion suspension on the toolbar provides flotation, and rake-wheel down pressure is adjustable. This combination helps the rake follow the field while allowing the operator to tune the machine for the desired raking action.

Single-side raking is standard, with left- or right-side capability. An optional center splitter is also available and uses dual-angled, ground-driven rake wheels. Optional rake wheel wind discs can further extend the machine’s configuration options.
