The Vermeer TE485 14-Basket Tedder is built for efficient, high-capacity hay conditioning across a tedding width of 48.6 ft (14.8 m). With 14 baskets, hook tines, hydraulic basket tilt and adjustment, and three-position toolless basket-height adjustment, the TE485 helps promote quicker dry down while allowing operators to make important adjustments from the tractor cab. Its wide working span is suited to demanding haymaking operations, while carted transport wheels, highway lighting, large flotation tires, and a drawbar clevis connection support practical movement between fields.

Efficient Tedding Across a Wide Working Width

The TE485 provides a 48.6-ft (14.8-m) tedding width for efficient coverage in large-scale hay operations. Each of its 14 baskets is fitted with six tine arms and hook tines, helping distribute crop for drying. Hydraulic basket-angle adjustment can be operated from the tractor cab, allowing the operator to adjust the tedder for changing field and crop conditions without leaving the tractor.

Adjustable, Operator-Focused Design

Standard hydraulic basket tilt and adjustment provide convenient control during operation. The basket height can also be set through a three-position toolless adjustment, helping simplify setup. A finger-joint coupling system is used at the wing hinges, while the end curtain has manual adjustment as standard and optional hydraulic adjustment available.

Transport and Field Practicality

The TE485 is carted on transport wheels and has a transport width of 9.8 ft (3 m), a transport height of 8.2 ft (2.5 m), and a transport length of 20.5 ft (6.2 m). Large flotation tires support field operation, with 16x6.50-8 outer tires and 16x9.50-8 center tires. Transport tires are 380/55-17. Standard highway lighting and a standard SMV sign support visibility during transport. A safety chain is available as an option.

Tractor Requirements

The Vermeer TE485 requires a tractor providing at least 100 hp (74.6 kW) PTO horsepower. The tractor must have a 540-rpm PTO, a drawbar clevis connection, and two double-acting hydraulic circuits. Hydraulic performance requirements are a minimum pressure of 2,000 psi (137.9 bar) and a flow rate of 5 gpm (18.9 L/min).
