Description

Vermeer RR270C Twin Rotary Rake – Center Delivery is a high-capacity hay rake designed to gather forage into a centered windrow across a 24–27 ft (7.3–8.2 m) working width. With twin rotors, hydraulic windrow-width adjustment, hydraulic rotor lift, and a 2-point hitch, the RR270C is built for efficient field preparation ahead of baling or forage collection. Its three walking tandem axles under each rotor support flotation across the field, while the steering axle, highway lights, and transport configuration help support movement between fields and work areas.

Efficient Center-Delivery Raking

The RR270C uses twin rotary raking action to collect material from a broad working area and place it in a center windrow. The hydraulic adjustment system allows the windrow width to be set from 45 to 84 in (114.3 to 213.4 cm), helping operators configure the rake for different crop volumes, baler requirements, and field conditions.

Hydraulic rotor lift supports convenient raising and lowering during operation. The partial lift feature is designed for headland turns, helping reduce unnecessary travel across previously raked areas. An optional electric/hydraulic separate rotor lift enables single-side raking when that configuration is required.

Key Features

  • Twin rotary rake with center windrow delivery
  • 24 ft minimum to 27 ft maximum raking width
  • Hydraulic windrow-width adjustment from 45 to 84 in
  • Hydraulic rotor lift
  • Optional electric/hydraulic separate rotor lift for single-side raking
  • 26 tine arms with four double tines per arm
  • Three walking tandem axles under each rotor for flotation
  • Steering axle for transport
  • Modular rotor with individually replaceable parts
  • Toolless cam and rake-height adjustments
  • Partial lift feature for headland turns
  • Highway lights standard
  • ASABE S279 7-pin lighting connection

Raking Performance and Adjustability

Each rotor has a diameter of 11.6 ft (3.5 m), with a 0.3 in (0.8 cm) tooth diameter. The 26 tine arms and four double tines per arm provide the raking configuration for gathering cut forage. Toolless cam and rake-height adjustments support practical setup without requiring tools for these adjustments, while the modular rotor design uses individually replaceable parts.

Tractor Requirements

The Vermeer RR270C requires a tractor with a minimum PTO rating of 55 hp (41 kW). A recommended PTO rating of 75 hp (55.9 kW) is specified for operation. The rake uses a 540-rpm PTO, with a recommended PTO operating speed of 400–500 rpm.

The tractor must provide a 2-point hitch and hydraulic capacity for one single-acting and one double-acting circuit. The hydraulic system requirement is 2,000 psi (137.9 bar) with a flow rate of 6 gpm (22.7 L/min).
