Description

The Vermeer RR205S Twin Rotary Rake is a PTO-driven hay rake designed to gather forage efficiently into either one large windrow or two smaller windrows. Its adjustable 11.1–20.3 ft (3.4–6.2 m) raking width supports flexible field operation, while hydraulic rotor lift helps with rotor raise and lower functions. With two walking tandem axles beneath each rotor, a modular rotor design, toolless cam and rake-height adjustments, and standard highway lights, the RR205S is built for practical haymaking and transport between fields.

Flexible Windrow Formation

The Vermeer RR205S provides a 11.1–20.3 ft (3.4–6.2 m) adjustable raking width and a manual windrow-width adjustment range of 24–47 in (61–119.4 cm). The twin rotary configuration can form one large windrow or two smaller windrows, helping operators adapt the rake to different forage conditions and downstream baling or collection requirements. Windrow placement is on the left side.

Rotor Design and Field Performance

Each rotor measures 11 ft (3.4 m) in diameter and uses a total of 20 tine arms configured as 2 x 10, with four double tines per arm. The modular rotor uses individually replaceable parts to support serviceability. Toolless cam and rake-height adjustments simplify setup, while the 420 mm (16.5 in) cam tracks support the rake’s operating design. Hydraulic rotor lift allows the rotors to be raised and lowered from the tractor.

Tractor Requirements

The RR205S requires a tractor with a minimum PTO rating of 40 hp (29.8 kW), a minimum tractor weight of 2,175 lb (986.6 kg), and a 540 rpm PTO. The recommended operating PTO speed is 400–500 rpm. The rake connects using a drawbar hitch.

Hydraulic operation requires one single-acting control valve with a float function for rotor raise and lower, plus one double-acting control valve without float for rear rotor offset. The hydraulic system requirement is 6 gpm (22.7 L/min) at 2,000 psi (137.9 bar). ROPS, a seat belt, and an upright exhaust system are required.
