Vermeer Catapult CPX9000 Bale Processor is a high-capacity solution for forage processing and distribution, livestock bedding, cattle operations, and land-reclamation applications. Designed to process two large bales at a time, the CPX9000 combines automatic bale feeding, a dual-fan air circulation system, adjustable cut control, and directional discharge to help place processed material where it is needed. Its 19.8 ft (6.0 m) working width and spread distance of up to 100 ft (30.5 m) support efficient material distribution, while powered sidewalls, replaceable abrasion-resistant steel liners, and two driveline shear hubs contribute to practical operation in demanding conditions.

Efficient Two-Bale Processing

The CPX9000 processes two bales, each up to 6 ft x 5 ft (1.8 m x 1.5 m), with a maximum bale weight capacity of 2,500 lb (1,134 kg). Automatic bale feed is standard and includes automatic forward/reverse operation to support controlled bale handling. Three roller chains with bolt-on cross slats rotate the bales through the machine, while the flail system processes the material for distribution.

A hand lever provides five cut-control settings, allowing the operator to adjust processing according to the application. The CPX9000 is equipped with seven cut control bars. An optional cut-control hydraulic kit enables cut-length adjustments from the tractor cab.

Directional Discharge and Broad Material Placement

The CPX9000 provides right- or left-hand discharge with 260-degree rotation. Hydraulic spout and deflector controls help direct material, with deflector adjustment up to 90 degrees. Two 38.6 in (98 cm) blower fans support material movement, providing a horizontal spread distance of up to 100 ft (30.5 m).

The dual-fan air circulation system uses a front fan speed of 1,500 rpm and a rear fan speed of 1,000 rpm. This direct-feed arrangement is designed for distributing processed forage and bedding material across the required area.

Durable Processing Components

The CPX9000 uses replaceable abrasion-resistant steel liners, with a high-wear-resistant liner available as an option. The flail drum measures 26.8 in (68.1 cm) in diameter and 78 in (198.1 cm) in length. It carries 30 tempered-spring flails, each measuring 7/16 in x 5-9/16 in (1.1 cm x 14.1 cm). Two driveline shear hubs provide torque protection.

The Vermeer Catapult CPX9000 requires a tractor with a 1,000 rpm PTO and two double-acting hydraulic circuits operating at 2,000 psi (137.9 bar) with an 8 gpm (30.3 L/min) flow rate. Minimum tractor power is 110 PTO hp (82 kW) with automatic bale feed. Vermeer recommends 150 PTO hp (111.9 kW), with a maximum rated tractor power of 210 PTO hp (156.6 kW).
