Designed for Efficient Hay Baling

The 605S Rancher is designed to handle large, consistent round bales while providing control over bale formation and density from the tractor cab. Its variable-chamber design supports bale diameters from 36 to 72 inches, allowing operators to select bale size according to crop conditions, handling requirements, and storage plans.

The camless wide pickup gathers hay across a 77-inch tooth-to-tooth span and 91-inch outside-flair width. Four tooth bars and 60 double rubber-mounted teeth support crop pickup, while the hydraulic pickup lift helps simplify operation and adjustment in the field.

Control, Moisture, and Bale Handling

Atlas Pro in-cab controls provide access to operating information through a 7-inch color touchscreen. In-cab bale-density adjustments help the operator manage bale formation during the baling process. Standard moisture sensing provides real-time moisture information for crops measuring up to 29% moisture.

Mechanical netwrap is standard for bale tying, with a twine system available as an option. The hydraulic bale ramp supports bale discharge, helping streamline the process from bale formation to field placement.

Tractor Requirements

The Vermeer 605S Rancher requires a tractor with at least 75 PTO hp (55.9 kW). Vermeer recommends 100 PTO hp (74.6 kW) for the application. The manufacturer specifies a 540-rpm driveline. Hydraulic pickup lift and hydraulic bale ramp functions are specified; hydraulic flow and pressure requirements are not listed.
