The Vermeer 605N Cornstalk Special uses a variable chamber with eight belts, each measuring 6.8 inches wide, to form adjustable round bales. Bale diameter can be set from 36 to 72 inches, allowing operators to select a size suited to handling, storage, and crop conditions. The machine’s cammed wide pickup measures 77 inches tooth-to-tooth and 90 inches across the outside flair, helping gather a broad windrow. Hydraulic pickup lift supports convenient pickup adjustment from the tractor.

The powered Windguard is a standard Cornstalk Special feature intended for demanding crop conditions. Standard moisture sensors provide readings up to 27%, helping operators monitor crop moisture while baling. The standard netwrap system, hydraulic bale ramp, scale kit, and Auto Lube greasing system contribute to a well-equipped configuration for regular production work.

Control, Bale Handling, and Driveline

The E-Link Pro control system uses a 7-inch color touchscreen to provide the baler interface during operation. The 1,000-rpm driveline incorporates extended lubrication and a cutout clutch. O-ring chains are used on specified chain drives. Once a bale is formed, the standard hydraulic bale ramp assists with bale discharge; an Inline ramp is available as an optional configuration according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
