Description

The Vermeer 604 Pro G4 Round Baler is a variable-chamber round baler engineered for versatility, durability, and ease of use when producing premium forage. This configured model forms 48-inch-wide bales with a variable diameter from 36 to 72 inches, supporting flexible bale sizing from approximately 3 to 6 feet. It combines a standard 540-rpm PTO driveline, 73-inch camless wide pickup, standard rear-load netwrap system, 17-knife chopping system, spring-loaded bale ramp, and 21.5L-16.1 flotation tires. With hydraulic pickup lift, drop-floor plug clearing controlled from the cab, and the Atlas Pro control system with a 7-inch color touchscreen, the 604 Pro G4 is suited to demanding hay and forage baling operations.

Efficient Forage Baling

The variable-chamber design allows bale diameter adjustment across a 36- to 72-inch range while maintaining a consistent 48-inch bale width. The camless wide pickup measures 73 inches tooth-to-tooth and 78 inches across the outside flair, helping gather forage efficiently across the windrow. A hydraulic pickup lift supports convenient adjustment during field operation, while the drop floor with cab-controlled plug clearing helps address material buildup without leaving the tractor cab.

Integrated Bale Handling and Crop Processing

This configuration includes a 17-knife chopping system for processing forage as it enters the bale chamber. The standard rear-load netwrap system is paired with standard net tension control through the control system. After baling, the spring-loaded bale ramp assists with bale discharge. Flotation tires help support field operation and are specified as 21.5L-16.1 tires.

Tractor Requirements

The Vermeer 604 Pro G4 requires a tractor with a minimum PTO output of 90 hp (67.1 kW). A tractor with 120 hp (89.5 kW) PTO output is recommended. The supplied configuration uses the standard 540-rpm PTO driveline. A 1,000-rpm driveline is listed as optional by the manufacturer.
