HLA Attachments SSB60 Side Discharge Sand Bucket with BO500 Quick-Attach Mount is a hydraulically powered material-handling bucket designed to place sand and similar granular materials efficiently from either side of the machine. With a 60-inch inside width and 2/3 cubic yard heaped capacity, this model combines a bidirectional 12-inch discharge belt with a hydraulically driven beater to promote consistent material flow. Its side-discharge design is well suited to applications where controlled placement is more practical than conventional bucket dumping, including distributing sand, soil, gravel, stone dust, and crushed stone.

Controlled Bidirectional Material Placement

The SSB60 can discharge from either side of the carrier, allowing the operator to select the direction that best suits the job and machine position. This capability can help when placing material along paths, edges, trenches, shoulders, or other areas where repositioning the loader for every pass would be inconvenient.

A 12-inch-wide belt equipped with mini cleats carries material toward the selected discharge side. The belt is powered by a hydraulic direct-coupled drive, providing a straightforward hydraulic system without a separate mechanical drive arrangement. The 60-inch model uses one hydraulic discharge-belt motor.

Improved Flow Through the Bucket

A hydraulically driven beater assists material movement and helps prevent bridging inside the bucket. This is particularly useful when handling granular products that may compact or resist feeding evenly onto the belt. The SSB60 has one hydraulic beater motor working in conjunction with the belt-drive system.

The integrated baffle and belt shield keep the weight of the loaded material off the discharge belt. By reducing direct material pressure on the belt, this design also reduces strain during startup. The bucket is manufactured from the same material specification used for HLA Attachments’ side-discharge sawdust bucket.
