Greenworks Commercial ST161 82V OPTIMUS 1.6 kW String Trimmer delivers commercial-grade brushless power in a tool-only configuration for professional vegetation maintenance and trimming applications. Its 17-inch cutting path, three speed settings, variable-speed trigger and constant 5,500 RPM trimming speed are designed to support productive, controlled cutting. The rapid-reload bump-feed spool holds up to 34 feet of 0.095-inch nylon line, while the solid drive shaft, magnesium base plate and IPX5 protection provide a durable foundation for demanding working conditions. Battery and charger are sold separately.

Commercial 82V Brushless Performance

The ST161 produces 1.6 kW of power, equivalent to a 36 cc gas-engine competitor, without relying on a petrol engine. Its brushless motor provides the power platform for professional trimming, while three speed settings allow the operator to select between 4,500, 5,000 and 5,500 RPM no-load speeds, each specified at ±10%. The variable-speed trigger provides additional control during operation, helping the operator adjust trimming speed to suit the task.

A 17-inch cutting width enables efficient coverage along edges, around obstacles and across managed grounds. The high-visibility debris guard helps provide a clear visual reference during trimming. Greenworks Commercial also identifies the unit as offering lower noise and vibration compared with gas equipment.

Rapid-Reload Bump-Feed Spool

The ST161 uses a bump-feed line system and a rapid-reload spool designed to simplify line replenishment. The spool holds 34 feet of 0.095-inch, or 2.4 mm, cutting line. When additional line is required, the bump-feed design allows line to be advanced during operation according to the operator manual’s specified system.

Battery and Charger Compatibility

This is a tool-only product. Battery and charger are not included and must be purchased separately. The ST161 is specified for use with Greenworks Commercial 82V batteries and chargers. Compatible battery models include 82BD250, 82BD400, 82BD500 and 82BD800, along with other Greenworks Commercial 82V batteries. Compatible charger models include GC 400, 82DPC8A and 82CH62K, along with other Greenworks Commercial 82V chargers.

With the recommended 4 Ah battery, the manufacturer lists runtime of up to 55 minutes. Battery recharge time is listed as 30 minutes. Actual operating time can vary according to the selected speed setting and working conditions.
