Efficient Tractor-Mounted Log Splitting

The WALLENSTEIN WX310 is designed to mount to a tractor’s 3-point hitch and operate from the tractor’s hydraulic system. Its horizontal configuration provides a practical working position for processing logs through the 24-inch split opening. The 9-inch wedge height and wide wedge design help initiate the split early, while the 4-inch cylinder provides the hydraulic force required for demanding splitting work.

The standard WX310 uses an open-center hydraulic system and requires a recommended minimum hydraulic flow of 10 gpm (38 L/min). A closed-center configuration is identified separately as the WX310C model. Cycle times depend on the tractor’s available hydraulic flow, with an average split cycle of 6.62 seconds and a full cycle of 13.24 seconds listed for the model.
