Description

WALLENSTEIN WP1840-24 20 Ton Firewood Processor combines a 20-ton splitting system, folding two-stage live deck, hydraulic saw, and 24 ft self-contained hydraulic conveyor in a highway-towable package. Designed for commercial firewood processing, the WP1840-24 handles logs up to 18 in (46 cm) in diameter and up to 192 in (488 cm) long, with throughput of up to 3.5 cords per hour. Its onboard Vanguard 40 hp EFI engine and self-contained hydraulic system allow the processor and conveyor to operate without a specified external tractor hydraulic or PTO requirement.

Commercial Processing Capability

The WP1840-24 is built around a 20-ton split force and a 26 in (66 cm) split opening. The folding two-stage live deck helps move logs toward the cutting area, while the 150 in (381 cm) log trough supports long material within the machine’s rated capacity. A hydraulic adjustable wedge, with adjustable 4-way and 6-way configurations, provides flexibility for different processing requirements.

The hydraulic saw uses an Oregon 25 in (64 cm) harvester bar, an 18HX 0.404 saw chain, and a hydraulic gear motor. Automatic bar oiling supports the saw system, while the block dropper, top roller, length indicator, and auto return contribute to a continuous processing workflow. The average cut-to-cut cycle time is 12 seconds, and the full-stroke splitting cycle time is 6.5 seconds.

Integrated Conveyor and Hydraulic System

A 24 ft self-contained hydraulic conveyor is included with the WP1840-24 for moving processed firewood away from the splitter. The onboard hydraulic system uses three pump stages rated at 14 gpm (53 lpm), 7.75 gpm (29.3 lpm), and 4.15 gpm (15.7 lpm). Hydraulic capacity is 26 US gal (102 l), and the engine fuel tank holds 10 US gal (38 l).
