Description

The Wallenstein WP275 Firewood Processor is a tractor-powered, 3-point-hitch machine designed to streamline firewood processing with a hydraulic winch infeed, 25-ton splitting force, and an automatic hands-free cycle. Built for tractors producing at least 45 hp and providing 12–24 US gpm of hydraulic flow, the WP275 can process logs up to 22 inches in diameter and split them through a 36-inch opening. Its adjustable 4-way wedge, adjustable offload chute, length indicator, and pivoting chainsaw holder support efficient firewood production for property maintenance, firewood businesses, farms, and woodland operations.

Efficient Tractor-Powered Firewood Processing

The WP275 uses the tractor’s hydraulic system as its power source and mounts directly to a Category I or Category II 3-point hitch. The hydraulic winch infeed provides 1,550 lb of pulling capacity and includes 50 feet of 1/4-inch rope, helping bring suitable logs into position for processing. Once loaded, the processor’s automatic hands-free cycle supports a consistent workflow from cutting through splitting and discharge.

With a rated splitting force of 25 tons and a 4.5-inch cylinder, the WP275 is equipped for demanding firewood work. Its 36-inch split opening accommodates the splitting process, while the adjustable 4-way wedge helps produce multiple pieces per cycle. Throughput is rated at up to 2 cords per hour, depending on operating conditions, log characteristics, and tractor hydraulic flow.

Tractor Requirements and Compatibility

The Wallenstein WP275 requires a tractor rated at a minimum of 45 hp with hydraulic flow between 12 and 24 US gpm (45–91 L/min). It mounts to Category I and Category II 3-point hitches. The processor is designed for direct 3-point mounting and is not compatible with a Quick-Hitch.

Mounting and Operating Configuration

The WP275 has a direct tractor-mounted configuration and measures 69 inches wide for transport. Its open working dimensions are 246 × 69 × 66 inches, while its folded dimensions are 125 × 69 × 79 inches.
