Efficient High-Capacity Raking

The VRB16 uses 16 rake wheels, each measuring 60 inches in diameter and fitted with 40 teeth. This configuration provides a maximum raking width of 31 feet, allowing operators to cover a broad working area during hay-gathering operations. The windrow width can be adjusted from a minimum of 36 inches to a maximum of 72 inches to suit crop conditions and downstream baling or forage-handling requirements.

The rake folds and unfolds hydraulically from the tractor cab. Its high-capacity frame is designed with optimal ground clearance, and individual rake wheels use steel-spring flotation to help maintain ground contact. Ground pressure can be adjusted without tools, while a ratchet lever provides toolless windrow-width adjustment. An optional hydraulic adjustment circuit is available for windrow-width adjustment.

Tractor Requirements

The Vermeer VRB16 requires a tractor with a minimum PTO rating of 40 hp (29.8 kW). The tractor must provide two double-acting hydraulic circuits, hydraulic pressure of 1,800 psi (124.1 bar), and hydraulic flow of 5 gpm (18.9 L/min). The rake connects through a drawbar hitch.

For operation and transport, the tractor must have a ROPS, seat belt, upright exhaust system, and an ASABE S279 7-pin highway-light connection.
