Description

The Vermeer 605S Cornstalk Special Round Baler is a heavy-duty variable-chamber round baler configured for demanding corn-stalk and forage baling applications. Its manufacturer designation is the 605N Cornstalk Special Baler. Designed to produce bales from 36 to 72 inches in diameter and 61 inches wide, this Vermeer baler combines an 1,000-rpm driveline, powered windguard, wide cammed pickup, moisture sensing, automatic lubrication, and E-Link Pro controls to support efficient, consistent baling in challenging crop conditions. The 5-foot by 6-foot maximum bale capacity makes it suitable for operators who need high-capacity baling with control over finished bale size.

Built for Tough Baling Conditions

The Cornstalk Special configuration is designed for baling through demanding crop material. Its 1,000-rpm driveline incorporates extended lubrication and a cut-out clutch, while friction pickup torque protection with slip-sensing helps protect the pickup system during operation. The powered windguard is standard and supports controlled crop handling as material enters the pickup.

The cammed wide pickup uses 65 double rubber-mounted teeth across a 77-inch tooth-to-tooth working width. This pickup configuration is complemented by hydraulic pickup lift for practical field operation and adjustment.

Variable-Chamber Bale Formation

The 605N Cornstalk Special uses a variable bale chamber with eight 6.8-inch-wide belts. It forms bales from 36 to 72 inches in diameter, with a bale width of 61 inches. The maximum bale size is consistent with a 5-foot by 6-foot bale configuration. Maximum bale weight is rated at 2,400 pounds, depending on crop and operating conditions.

Controls, Moisture Sensing and Bale Handling

Operation is managed through the E-Link Pro control system with a 7-inch color touchscreen. Standard moisture sensing is rated up to 27%, providing moisture information during baling. A standard netwrap system is included for bale securing, while the standard hydraulic bale ramp assists with bale discharge. An optional Inline ramp is also identified for this model.

Routine maintenance is supported by the standard Auto Lube greasing system, extended driveline lubrication, and standard LED maintenance lights.
