The Vermeer 605N Cornstalk Special Baler is a variable-chamber round baler configured for demanding corn residue and other tough-crop baling applications. This 5 ft x 6 ft configuration combines a 1000-rpm PTO driveline with a wide pickup, netwrap, hydraulic bale ramp, flotation tires, scale kit, moisture sensors and adjustable hydraulic density control. The supplied configuration also includes a powered windguard, fire extinguisher and lighting equipment, making it well suited to producers who need efficient, consistent bale formation and practical equipment for extended field and transport use.

Built for Tough-Crop Baling

The 605N Cornstalk Special uses a variable open-throat vertical chamber to form round bales from 36 to 72 inches in diameter. Its 61-inch bale width and adjustable density system provide flexibility across crop conditions, while the eight 6.8-inch, three-ply mini rough-top belts support dependable bale formation. Maximum bale weight is rated at 2,400 lb, depending on crop and moisture content.

A 77-inch tooth-to-tooth pickup width helps gather windrows efficiently. The pickup uses 65 rubber-mounted double tines spaced at 3-1/16 inches, with an outside-flair width of 90 inches. Hydraulic pickup lift, a powered windguard and moisture sensors are included in the supplied configuration to support crop gathering and bale-quality monitoring.

Efficient Bale Handling

The standard netwrap system is designed for convenient bale wrapping, while the hydraulic bale ramp helps move completed bales from the chamber. The integrated scale kit supports bale weighing, and standard moisture sensors provide information to help monitor crop conditions during baling. Together with the E-Link Pro display and adjustable hydraulic density control, these features support more consistent operation across changing field conditions.

Flotation tires are included for the supplied configuration, with a transport width of 129 inches when equipped with flotation tires and the scale. Standard highway and maintenance lighting equipment, along with the SMV sign, supports visibility when the baler is being moved or serviced.
