Wallenstein WE235 20-Ton Horizontal/Vertical Towable Log Splitter is a versatile wood-splitting machine designed for efficient firewood processing in a range of working conditions. With 20 tons of split force, a 24-inch split opening, and a Briggs & Stratton 5.8 hp (190 cc) engine, the WE235 handles horizontal or vertical splitting while its towable design makes positioning convenient around the work area. A two-stage hydraulic pump, direct pressure hydraulic system, wide wedge, and hands-free return support productive splitting for residential, farm, and property-maintenance applications.

Versatile Horizontal and Vertical Splitting

The WE235 can be used in either horizontal or vertical orientation. Horizontal splitting is suitable for loading and processing manageable logs, while vertical splitting allows larger rounds to be positioned on the ground rather than lifted onto the splitter bed. The 24-inch split opening provides working space for a broad range of firewood sizes.

Hydraulic Performance

A Briggs & Stratton 5.8 hp (190 cc) engine powers the splitter’s hydraulic system. The two-stage hydraulic pump is designed for efficient operation, while the direct pressure hydraulic system delivers the force required for the machine’s 20-ton splitting capacity. The wide wedge helps drive through logs, and the hands-free return feature supports a smoother operating cycle between splits.

The average splitter cycle time is 6.62 seconds, with a full cycle time of 13.24 seconds. Hydraulic specifications include a 3 US gallon (11 L) capacity, fluid flow of less than 11 US gpm (42 L/min), and a hydraulic system relief pressure of 3,200 psi (221 bar).

Transport and Setup

The Wallenstein WE235 is towable or self-contained and uses a 2-inch ball hitch. Its 4.80 x 8 tires and 40-inch (102 cm) transport width support movement and positioning around the property. The splitter is not highway towable and is intended for appropriate on-site transport and use.
