Description

The Wallenstein FX85 8500 lb Skidding Winch is a PTO-driven tractor skidding winch designed for controlled log recovery and forestry work. With an 8,500 lb (3,855 kg) pulling capacity, a durable steel cable, and manual control through a mechanical dry-disc clutch, the FX85 provides a straightforward solution for skidding operations. It mounts to a Category I three-point hitch and is designed for tractors in the 30–55 engine horsepower range with a 540 rpm PTO. The gray finish variant is identified as WAL FX85-GRY.

Built for Tractor-Based Skidding

The FX85 connects to a compatible tractor’s three-point hitch and uses the tractor PTO to drive the winch. Its steel cable measures 165 ft (50 m) in length and 3/8 in (10 mm) in diameter, providing the reach needed for positioning and retrieving logs in working areas. The manual-control design offers direct operation, while the mechanical dry-disc clutch supports the winch’s pulling function.

Two included choker chains and two keyhole sliders are supplied with the winch to support log-choking and cable setup during skidding work. The unit has a 40 in (102 cm) working and transport width, with overall dimensions of 27 x 40 x 76 in (69 x 102 x 193 cm).
