Description

The WALLENSTEIN WP1840-12 20 Ton Towable/Self-Contained Firewood Processor combines a folding two-stage live deck, hydraulic sawing, powerful splitting, and a 12-foot integrated conveyor in one highway-towable machine. Powered by a Vanguard 40 hp, 993 cc EFI engine, this self-contained wood processor is designed to handle logs up to 18 inches in diameter and deliver throughput of up to 3.5 cords per hour. Its integrated live deck helps feed logs toward the cutting area, while the 20-ton splitter and adjustable wedge support efficient firewood production for commercial operators, firewood businesses, and demanding property-maintenance applications.

Efficient Processing from Log to Firewood

The WP1840-12 is configured for productive, continuous material handling. Its folding two-stage live deck provides a working surface for log movement and folds for transport. The hydraulic saw uses an Oregon 25-inch harvester bar, an 18HX 0.404 saw chain, and a hydraulic gear motor. Automatic bar oiling supports the cutting system, while the 12-foot integrated conveyor moves processed firewood away from the splitter chute for efficient stacking or loading.

With an average cut-to-cut cycle time of 12 seconds and a full-stroke splitting cycle time of 6.5 seconds, the processor is built for repeated cutting and splitting operations. The 20-ton split force, 26-inch split opening, and 20-inch splitter chute clearance provide capacity for the specified log sizes and processing configuration.

Self-Contained Hydraulic System

The WALLENSTEIN WP1840-12 uses a self-contained hydraulic system, so the processor includes its own hydraulic power source rather than relying on a tractor PTO hydraulic system. Its three-stage hydraulic pump provides outputs of 14 gpm, 7.75 gpm, and 4.15 gpm, with a 26 US gallon hydraulic capacity. The fuel tank capacity is 10 US gallons.
