WALLENSTEIN 20 Ton, Live Deck Infeed, Towable/Self-Contained

The WALLENSTEIN WP1840 Firewood Processor is a commercially designed, towable and self-contained machine for loading, cutting, splitting and piling firewood efficiently. Powered by a Vanguard® 37 hp (993 cc) EFI gasoline engine, the WP1840 delivers 20 tons of split force and throughput of up to 3.5 cords per hour. Its folding two-stage live deck helps move logs into position, while the 25-inch Oregon® harvester bar, hydraulic saw drive and automatic bar oiler support a streamlined processing workflow. Supplied without a conveyor, this configuration is suited to operators who need a highway-towable processor with integrated hydraulic power and a compact folded transport width.

Commercial Firewood Processing Performance

The WP1840 is designed to process logs up to 18 inches (46 cm) in diameter, with a recommended log diameter of 16 inches (31 cm). Its 26-inch (66 cm) split opening and 20-ton split force provide the capacity needed for demanding firewood production. The average cut-to-cut cycle time is 12 seconds, while the full-stroke splitting cycle is 6.5 seconds.

Logs are handled through a 150-inch (381 cm) log trough and a 70 x 72 x 53-inch (178 x 183 x 135 cm) folding two-stage live deck. The easy-fold deck supports transport and setup, while the top roller, length indicator and block dropper assist with consistent log handling and processing.

Self-Contained Hydraulic System

The WP1840 uses its own self-contained hydraulic system, so the processor is not dependent on a tractor PTO hydraulic supply. Its three-stage hydraulic pump is rated at 14 gpm (53 lpm), 7.75 gpm (29.3 lpm) and 4.15 gpm (15.7 lpm), with a total hydraulic capacity of 26 US gal (102 L). The 20-inch (51 cm) splitter chute clearance provides space for processed firewood to exit the splitting area.

Towable Design and Transport

Built for highway towing, the WP1840 uses ST205/75R15 tires and a 2-inch ladder-style ball coupler. The tongue weight is 480 lb (218 kg), and total machine weight is 3,700 lb (1,450 kg). When folded, the processor measures 232 x 66 x 105 inches (589 x 167 x 266 cm), giving it a transport width of 66 inches (167 cm). In its open operating configuration, it measures 232 x 114 x 76 inches (589 x 289 x 193 cm).
