Hydraulic Tree-Trimming Capability

The HLS1224 uses the skid steer loader’s auxiliary hydraulic system to power the saw. At the specified hydraulic supply of 15 GPM at 3,000 PSI, the saw is rated for 2,550 rpm, 22 hp, and 45 ft-lb of torque. This hydraulic design allows limb cutting to be controlled from the operator’s seat rather than requiring the operator to use a handheld saw while working at height.

Its mast provides up to 14 feet of attachment reach, helping the saw access elevated branches while the skid steer remains on the ground. Three mast mounting locations are incorporated into the frame base, allowing the mast position to be adjusted to suit the trimming task and operating setup.

25-Inch Stihl Cutting Components

The limb saw is equipped with a standard Stihl 25-inch guide bar and saw chain. The use of standard Stihl cutting components makes replacement straightforward when the guide bar or chain reaches the end of its service life. An automatic chain oiler supplies lubrication during operation, reducing the need for manual oil application and helping maintain the cutting system.

A spring-tension cut-assist system supports the saw during the cut. Together with the extended mast and hydraulic saw drive, this feature provides a purpose-built setup for skid steer-based limb maintenance.
