HLA Attachments BH600 Big Arm Skid-Steer Backhoe Attachment brings compact backhoe capability to most skid-steer loaders through the HLA QTach mounting arrangement. Designed for trenching, excavation and digging alongside foundations, the BH600 offers a verified 6 ft digging depth, a hydraulic swing cylinder with 140° of swing and a second boom mounting position on the side of the frame for offset work. A single electric selector valve and universal electro-hydraulic harness kit support machine control integration, with either 12V or 24V valve coils available. This attachment is supplied without a bucket, allowing a compatible HLA Big Arm bucket to be selected separately for the intended application.

Compact Backhoe Capability for Skid-Steer Loaders

The BH600 is a skid-steer-mounted hydraulic backhoe attachment designed to add practical digging capability without requiring a dedicated backhoe machine. Its 6 ft digging depth makes it suitable for a range of excavation and trenching jobs, while the approximately 12 ft maximum raised height provides useful boom movement when repositioning material or clearing the work area.

A hydraulic swing cylinder moves the backhoe through a 140° range. This swing capability helps the operator place excavated material to either side of the digging area and work efficiently in confined locations. For jobs near walls or foundations, the boom can be installed in a second mounting position located on the side of the frame. This offset-digging provision enables the attachment to dig alongside a foundation rather than only directly behind the centre of the skid steer.

Bucket Selection

The BH600 is supplied as a backhoe attachment less bucket. Compatible HLA Big Arm backhoe bucket models include SHBT09, SHBT12, SHBT15, SHBT18, SHBT20, SHB09, SHB12, SHB15, SHB18 and SHB20. These options cover a verified bucket-width range of 9 to 20 in. Select the bucket separately according to the required trench width and application.

Compatibility

The HLA BH600 uses the HLA QTach arrangement and is compatible with most skid-steer loaders. Hydraulic and electrical connections are required for operation. The electrical selector-valve system can be configured with 12V or 24V valve coils. An optional OEM auxiliary-electric-control wiring kit is also available.

Optional equipment includes the BH600TH manual thumb for handling material, the HK90 90-inch hose kit with flat-faced couplers, and the SHMK spring hose mount kit. These items are optional and are not identified as standard equipment.

Hydraulic and Machine Requirements

A hydraulic connection from the skid-steer loader is required to operate the backhoe. HLA lists an optional HK90 hose kit featuring 90-inch hoses and flat-faced couplers. No verified hydraulic flow or pressure requirement is published for this model. Prospective users should confirm that their loader has the appropriate hydraulic and electrical connections, as well as suitable operating capacity for the attachment and selected bucket.

The BH600 is hydraulically powered and does not use a PTO connection or require a PTO horsepower rating.
