HLA Attachments SSB84 Side Discharge Sand Bucket with BO500 quick-attach mounting provides controlled hydraulic material placement from either side of the machine. Built with an 84-inch inside width and a 1-1/3 cubic yard heaped capacity, this side-discharge bucket is designed for use with compatible loaders and material handlers. Its direct-coupled hydraulic drive, dual belt motors, hydraulically driven beater, and 12-inch discharge belt work together to promote consistent material flow while helping reduce bridging and startup strain.

Controlled Discharge in Either Direction

The SSB84 can discharge material from either side of the machine, allowing the operator to place material without relying solely on forward dumping. This side-discharge capability is useful where controlled placement is required or where operating space makes conventional bucket dumping less practical.

A 12-inch-wide belt with mini cleats carries material toward the selected side. The belt is powered by two hydraulic motors, while a separate hydraulic motor drives the beater. The beater improves flow through the bucket and helps prevent material from bridging above the discharge system.

Hydraulic Direct-Coupled Drive

The hydraulic direct-coupled drive transfers power to the discharge system without a mechanical PTO connection. A minimum hydraulic flow of 12 GPM is required. The belt shield keeps the weight of the loaded material off the discharge belt, helping reduce strain when the belt starts under load.

This configuration includes HLA’s BO500 bolt-on skid-steer-style quick-attach mounting. The bolt-on design also allows the mounting system to be converted for compatible material handlers when an appropriate mounting option is used.

Compatibility

The SSB84 BO500 is intended for loaders and material handlers equipped with a compatible skid-steer-style quick-attach carrier using HLA BO500 mounting. Confirm that the carrier interface, hydraulic flow, lift capacity, and operating capacity of the power unit are appropriate for the attachment and the intended load.

Loader Requirements

HLA recommends a loader rated at 45 hp or greater for its 72- to 84-inch side-discharge buckets. The hydraulic system must provide a minimum flow of 12 GPM. The attachment weighs approximately 1,175 lb before material is loaded, so the loader or material handler must also have sufficient capacity for the combined attachment and material weight.
